May 24 Long Weekend in the backyard

Burger fixings in the backyard

A wonderful May 24 weekend in the backyard. Sunshine, crisp white wine, crunchy iceberg lettuce, the unbeatable American cheese, and NEW pickles!

Burgers by the fire

More about the pickles. The countless times that we have driven between Wolfville, Greenwich, New Minas, etc. without stopping at Elderkin’s Farm Market is shocking! We lover farm markets, but for some reason or another, we’ve always driven past Elderkin’s. No more! They had a bunch of delicious looking things, including a $5 lunch deal—soup, a roll or biscuit, and a coffee for $5 plus tax—which seems like one hell of a deal! Getting back to pickles…we came away with a jar of dill pickles, and they are absolutely wonderful. A little sweeter than the Anne’s Preserves dills that we always get at the Falmouth Farm Market.
