23º And Sunny: A Lucky Saturday in Late October

The weather this week just kept getting better and better. Thursday was warm, Friday was beautiful, and Saturday was downright hot! A lucky little last hurrah to cherish before some forecasted snow in the coming week. And the sunshine was perfect for snapping a couple photos of the crunching orange leaves on the ground, and the fiery red overhead.

More gorgeous leaves, and my favourite house in town.

We went for a drive to explore some lakes around the Annapolis Valley that we had never been to before. We visited Aylesford Lake as well as the neighbouring Lake George. — We don’t have a lot of lakes around this part of the province, which is my one main gripe about living here. Back when we lived in Halifax—weather right downtown, or in the suburbs—we were never more than 10 or 15 minutes away from a quiet, secluded lake perfect for swimming. But now that we live in Windsor, it’s about 30 minutes to the closest lake worth visiting.

Michael—crazily—stayed and swam around for a few minutes before getting out.

The water was way too cold for me, but the air and sun were certainly warm enough for shorts! What a delight!
